Privakey CEO Charles Durkin Named 2018 Top 100 Influencer in Identity

Privakey is proud to announce that our CEO Charles Durkin was selected as one of One World Identity’s Top 100 Identity Influencers of 2018.

In the past year, Charlie led the delivery of Privakey’s new licensed solution, obtained a patent for Privakey’s core password-free authentication technology and evangelized about the future of seamless consumer identity.

Charlie debuted Privakey CX, the licensed version of the Privakey authentication service, to a crowd of 1,500 at FinovateFall. This new product makes it easier for companies to standardize authentication across all consumer channels such as on a browser, mobile apps, on the phone, or to smart devices, without passwords or interrogations.

During his presentation he spoke to the need for consistency in identity and authorization comparing the need to implement multi-factor authentication across industries to that of the sweeping popularity of the ATM transaction when it was introduced. In a video at the event he was quoted saying: “An opportunity exists to standardize authentication without passwords across financial services using Privakey technology. Just like ATM transactions, authentication could work the same across your entire industry, and beyond. This would be a huge win for financial services and its customers.  Disrupt or be disrupted.”

The year concluded with Charlie and other members of the Privakey team being awarded with a patent for their advancements in the field of password-free authentication technology. In a news release that was featured on, Charlie said: “The patent covers much of the foundational technology needed for large scale, password-free, digital identity services. Our technology enables a password-free future, where consumers will no longer suffer the hassles and insecurities of using passwords for their multitude of connected services.”

We are excited to see what Charlie and the team at Privakey have in store for 2018!
